I am a very detail oriented person. Little things mean a lot when you combine them, which is why I was so extremely happy with Jay’s work ethic and professionalism. He was very thorough, one might even say meticulous in his inspection of the property that I am on contract for. He checked everything and left no stone unturned, which fills me with a great deal of confidence! This si the kind of follow-through that should be an industry standard, but you seldom find. Jay is the consummate professional and was absolutely amazing to work with. We have hired him twice in the last couple of years and both properties were older homes. I point that out because we encountered very high radon, unpermitted additions, clay and concrete walls, foundation shifting….. you name it and we had it. He was very thorough when explaining everything we were up against and his knowledge base is off the charts. I loved that he reviewed his inspection and pictures with us at the end of the appointment so we had time to think about everything before we received his official report. I will also say that he is very detailed and leaves no stone unturned. He was so patient with all of our questions and educated us on items in the home we knew nothing about. He encouraged us to contact him with any additional questions and even offered future assistance when we got into the actual work. Now that is customer service at it’s finest. I work as Professor at a university in Denver, but live in Colorado Springs – where I’m in process of finalizing a home purchase. As a university Professor, I demand the best from myself and others. Anything shy of the best leaves me uneasy! More personally, I am a keen observer and prone to noting nuances others would miss. When I first saw Jay, he was wearing blue booties over his shoes and showed a determined expression on his face! Jay was clearly focused on performing his tasks, but came by to introduce himself! As someone who is detail-oriented, I could tell I met my match! Jay looks every part the inspector! Jay made his way around and over the top, front, back and sides of the house. He ventured into the crawl space, climbed into the attics; checked the shrubs, cement lines, vents, cables and hoses. Heck, Jay even noted the stamps on nails in the deck! Jay showed me a picture of his hand clutching a thick wad of lint from the outside dryer vent! When inspecting the wood-burning fireplace, Jay photographed soot that fell and was careful to avoid having the soot enter the home – clearly a conscientious professional! Jay patiently provided detailed answers to my questions within his scope of competence. Jay gave me instructions on the furnace and water heater and informed me on indications for repair or maintenance. Throughout the inspection process, Jay showed spirit and skill and inspired trustworthiness. Personally, Jay was very warm, relational, engaging and kind. In fact, I couldn’t help but to reach out and hug Jay – who responded mutually! Professionals like Jay are very difficult to find. I highly recommend Jay Birkholz!

Jay came out to inspect our soon to be home. He was super polite, wore shoe covers and answered every question we had. Did the inspection in less time than he quoted. After he was finished he went over all the stuff he found around the house that could be fixed. Made sure we were 100% aware of the issues and there was no confusion. He was very thorough and we got his report an hour after we left the house!!! The report is SUPER detail oriented and we are pleased with the service. I would recommend him to anyone!

Wow! Jay did an amazing job. He accommodated my last minute request when the inspector my realtor booked backed out at the last minute. He saved us from violating our inspection objection date. Absolutely impressed. Jay inspected our new place like it was going to be his home. He found several significant issues that saved us thousands of dollars. Jay at Pro-Check Home Inspection was very professional and very thorough. His inspection was very comprehensive and very useful in determining if we will purchase the home he inspected. Radon level was very high and they inspected again to ensure they quit meant was properly functioning. My point is he showed deep concern and double checked his work. Pro Check Inspections has to be one of the most thorough home inspections I have ever been through! Jay is very knowledgeable and happily explains every thing to you. Very professional, friendly and thourogh!! Responsive and timely, his reports are very user-friendly. They even contained tips on how to maintain our future house to avoid it falling into disrepair! For things that could be self fixed he even went through the trouble to describe how to fix it in his report, and answered all of our questions over the phone. Jay did a very thorough job inspecting our home. We really enjoyed working with him. He also made it really easy for us by prioritizing all of the issues into color-coded categories. This really helped us with the decisions we needed to make during the buying process.  

WOW is all I have to say. Jay was amazing. I followed him around the entire inspection and he answered all of my questions in detail teaching me about wiring, plumbing and basic construction. Though he was professional he was also playful making me smile all while maintaining a smile and very positive attitude himself.
